Bilingualism at the heart of our educational project

At school, bilingualism is not just a skill: it is a valuable asset, opening up the world and offering tremendous benefits for children's futures.
Located in Mauritius, where several languages coexist on a daily basis, we have chosen to make bilingualism a cornerstone of our educational project. Learning to communicate in French and English fully reflects the cultural and linguistic reality of our island.

A dual programme for a dual culture

Our establishment follows the French curriculum, renowned for the strength of its teaching and the richness of its general education. Its varied, demanding and structured content provides pupils with a solid academic foundation and a broad view of the world.

At the same time, we have chosen to adopt the MIE programme for learning English. This programme, designed to suit the Mauritian context, enables pupils to learn English in a progressive, lively and contextualised manner.

This means that our pupils benefit from the best of both approaches:
– the rigour and cultural richness of the French curriculum;
– daily immersion in modern, masterful and authentic English.

A truly bilingual environment

At our school, bilingualism is not limited to one hour of class time. It is experienced, shared and embodied in every moment of the day.

Pupils and teachers evolve in a multilingual context, where everyone naturally hears each other's language, understands its meaning, becomes familiar with it, and sometimes dares to venture into speaking a language that is not yet their own.
It is in these small moments of everyday life that the greatest lessons are learned.

Experience languages every day

We are convinced that a language cannot be learned solely in the classroom, sitting at a desk.
It is learned through playing, cooperating, asking for help, sharing a meal, and working on a joint project.
In other words: by living together.

Young and old learn side by side, absorbing each other's words, developing comprehension strategies, daring to express themselves, trying, making mistakes, starting over... and progressing.

Mastering two languages — or more — opens doors, builds self-confidence, facilitates learning and prepares children for an increasingly interconnected world.
